Brigitte Finley Green, shareholder, Engelman Berger
BACKGROUND: Finley Green is the co-founder of Engelman Berger’s public finance group. During most of her more than 30-year legal career she has served as bond counsel or underwriter’s counsel on countless tax-exempt municipal bond transactions in Arizona for state agencies, universities, counties, cities, towns, school districts, special districts and conduit issuers.
SOURCE OF PRIDE: “Until recently, it was working on the $500M tax-exempt bond deal for Valley Metro Rail’s initial 20 miles, which transformed Phoenix. Now, I’m proudest of serving as bond counsel to Arizona Autism Charter School on the deals that financed its three campuses in Phoenix and Peoria, which will transform lives.”
SURPRISING FACT: “In the summer of 1976, I was one of the first two girls to play Little League Baseball® in my elementary school’s league after the Little League Federal Charter was amended in 1974 to allow girls to play.”
SOURCE OF INSPIRATION: “Justice Sandra Day O’Connor for breaking the Supreme Court glass ceiling. I had the opportunity to visit with her in her Supreme Court office in 1990 and now proudly display my fan girl picture of us from that day (despite my permed hair and big shoulder pads).”
