Today’s spotlight: Cathleen Walker
Regional president and head of corporate banking
Walker brings 30 years of financial services experience at PNC Bank to the market and leads a team that provides top-notch service, scale and capabilities with a community focus.
Lesson learned in 2020: “The biggest lesson I have taken away from the pandemic is realizing just how important good communication and empathy are with our employees, our community and our clients. Both attributes have played critical roles when working with community organizations on solutions for their pandemic-related needs and with companies looking for remote work solutions to grow their businesses during the pandemic.”
Source of pride: “I think my biggest professional accomplishment has been to open the Arizona market for PNC Bank. I was honored to be given this responsibility as the culmination of nearly 30 years of experience at PNC working across many segments of the bank. Being well prepared to bring the full force of our Main Street bank to Arizona presents us with the tremendous opportunity to introduce the PNC brand to customers in Arizona and now, with the pending integration of BBVA, the opportunity will be even greater.”
Surprising fact: “My introduction to the business world was working for a few clothing retailers. After 10 years in that business, where I received a great foundation working with customers and employees, I had reached the level of area manager and decided to go to business school to earn an MBA. I began my banking and finance career following business school.”
