Sky Harbor International Airport names 2 assistant aviation directors

• An aviation leader with more than 15 years of experience in airport operations has been named the newest Assistant Aviation Director at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. Sarah Demory, A.A.E., the current Airport Deputy Director for Operations and Security at the Boise, Idaho Airport, will join the City of Phoenix Aviation Department executive team as Assistant Aviation Director this fall. Prior to her current role in Boise, Demory held positions in operations and emergency management at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. She has extensive experience managing both airside and landside airport operations.

• Charlene Reynolds, who most recently served as Deputy Aviation Director – Contracts and Services for the City of Phoenix, has been promoted to Assistant Aviation Director. Reynolds has held supervisory and management positions in several City of Phoenix departments. Prior to her current position in the Aviation Department, Reynolds was Deputy Street Transportation Director overseeing the Management Services Division. Since 2002, she has also worked at the Phoenix Convention Center, in the Phoenix City Manager’s office and in the Community and Economic Development. Before she began her employment at the City, Reynolds held positions at Entranco Engineers and Valley Metro. She has extensive experience in contract management, purchasing, procurement and project management. Reynolds will oversee the Business and Properties, Contracts and Services, and Design and Construction divisions.

Real Estate Veteran Joins ORION to Boost Land Sales Division

Housing industry veteran Larry Kush joined ORION Investment Real Estate as senior vice president, effective immediately. In his new role, Kush is charged with expanding the Scottsdale, AZ-based ORION’s land sales division. “I’m delighted that Larry is joining us. His skills, knowledge and expertise of the area will be invaluable in helping our clients find the best sites on which to develop or hold,” said Ari Spiro, ORION’s president. “With Larry’s addition, we’ll continue to build our company into one of the top brokerages in the Western United States.”

Equality Health attracts top talent

Equality Health, the Arizona-based organization pioneering health care delivery to underserved and ethnic populations, announced it has added Dr. Shar Najafi and Tomás León to its executive team. With these strategic new hires, the organization has now swelled to 85 staffers, continuing to attract luminaries from a variety of health care sectors as it implements its holistic, cultural care model.

As the Senior Vice President of Behavioral Health, Dr. Shar Najafi will use her two decades of health care expertise to ensure Equality Health’s network of providers are able to integrate physical, behavioral and cultural care to execute a more complete, full person approach to care. Prior to joining the Equality Health executive team, she served as the Vice President of Outpatient Services with Southwest Behavioral and Health Services, where she was responsible for planning programs and implementing strategies to achieve outpatient clinic and operational service goals.

Arizona-native Tomás León, Equality Health Senior Vice President of Marketing and Strategy, is a subject matter expert on nonprofit and health care management, bringing more than 20 years of leadership, innovative strategy development and communications experience to the table. In his recent role as the president and CEO of the Institute for Diversity in Health Management at the American Hospital Association, he helped create and launched an award-winning equity of care campaign to eliminate health care disparities, engaging nearly 1,500 hospitals and health systems and 50 state hospital associations as part of a national initiative.
