HFF expands Phoenix investment sales team

Holliday Fenoglio Fowler, L.P. (HFF) announced today that it has hired Ben Geelan as a director in its Phoenix office.  Mr. Geelan will focus on office and industrial sales in the Greater Phoenix and Southwest region.

Geelan joins HFF from Cushman and Wakefield where he was a member of a four-person investment sales team specializing in office and industrial dispositions throughout Arizona.  Prior to that, he was an analyst in the research department of Cassidy Turley BRE.  Mr. Geelan is an active member of Urban Land Institute and the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties.  He holds a Juris Doctor degree from Valparaiso University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from University of Iowa.

NAI’s Laurel Lewis enjoys multi-deal month

August proved to be a scorcher for NAI Horizon Senior Vice President Laurel Lewis, who closed five lease transactions totaling $1.785 million (21,198 square feet) and the sale of an office condo for $395,000.

Lewis, a member of the Office Properties Group, began the month representing the tenant in a long-term lease for GeoTek Operations Limited at Koll Cotton Center, 4050 E. Cotton Center Blvd., in Phoenix. The deal for 9,966 SF totaled $315,722.

 The subsequent long-term tenant representation deals included:

• North Star Wealth Management, LLC, 1,490 SF, $200,529, Canyon Village, 18835 N. Thompson Peak Parkway, Scottsdale;

• Software Ops, 2,779 SF, $416,850, Scottsdale Norte, 11333 N. Scottsdale Rd., Scottsdale;

• Wilson & Company, 4,538 SF, $683,536, Phoenix Gateway Center, 410 N. 44th St., Phoenix;

• PCB Group Sales Co., 2,435 SF, $168,623, Foothills Gateway, 4505 E Chandler Blvd., Phoenix.

Bryan Kilgore named Avondale vice mayor

The Avondale City Council unanimously voted to name Bryan Kilgore as its new Vice Mayor on Monday, September 18th. Kilgore, who has served on the City Council since 2014, will complete the Vice-Mayor term of the late Sandi Nielson, who passed away on August 19 while serving on the City Council. Her council seat was filled earlier this month with the appointment of Tina Conde on Sept. 11, however, the Council still had to take a vote on the Vice Mayor position.

Bryan Kilgore was first appointed to the City Council in February 2014 to fill a council vacancy. He was elected later that same year and began his four-year term in January 2015.
