Nearly three-quarters of Arizona’s legislators received a perfect score on pro-small business legislation according to the Arizona Small Business Association.  Of the 11 priority bills ASBA promoted, 54 legislators voted with ASBA every single time.

The Arizona Small Business Association had an exceptionally productive session with all 11 of ASBA’s priority bills becoming law. State lawmakers introduced 1,247 bills and 114 memorials and resolutions, upon adjournment 388 bills were passed and sent to Governor Ducey for action where he signed 374 into law.

Ducey noted that “this session was about addressing priorities, keeping promises and solving problems. Together, lawmakers stepped up and worked in a spirit of good faith and good government to keep Arizona on a strong and stable path forward.”

The Arizona Small Business Association strongly believes that well-informed policy makers are essential to ensuring the development of necessary and responsible public policy that supports small business.

ASBA CEO, Rick Murray, says “We are very pleased with the outcome of the session and are looking forward to seeing these laws put into effect. ASBA works very hard to support small businesses in many ways and it is rewarding to see legislators agree with the work we are doing”.

ASBA’s annual legislative agenda which communicates our top priorities for the year is presented to lawmakers at the beginning of the session. The priority agenda and annual legislative scorecard documents can be found in the Advocacy page of asba.com.
