The Arizona Small Business Association (ASBA) is celebrating Small Business Week with its Arizona Small Business Conference (AZ Small Biz Con) on May 5th.

Officially proclaimed by President Barack Obama on April 29th, Small Business Week will take place from May 1st – May 7th.

AZ Small Biz Con will be recognizing the 2016 Small Business Administration award winners at the event, in addition to providing a wide variety of educational sessions for small business owners to use to enhance their business knowledge.

The event will take place Thursday, May 5th from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Arizona Biltmore. Tickets are on sale now.

“This is always a very exciting time for ASBA each year,” states Rick Murray, ASBA CEO.  “Not only is AZ Small Biz Con our largest event of the year, but it’s an opportunity for us to recognize the hard work and entrepreneurialism of the small business community.  Responsible for creating nearly two-thirds of net new jobs each year and employing more than half of all Arizonans, small businesses have always been a vital part of our economy.”

Small Business Week is a reminder of the importance that small businesses play in our economy.  It provides an opportunity for consumers to support their local businesses while purchasing and dining.  Large-scale and corporate companies can use this time to further support the small business community through donations, promotion, and sponsorships.  ASBA encourages all business owners and consumers to recognize and support the small business community, contributing to the spirit of entrepreneurialism and a thriving economy.
