WGM Associates acquires Nimbus
WGM Associates, a Scottsdale-based information technology consulting and application development firm, has acquired Phoenix-based Nimbus Optimized Computing. Terms of the deal between the two privately-held firms were not disclosed.
Nimbus plans, designs and delivers cloud computing solutions to help small and medium-sized businesses consolidate and standardize their information technology systems while reducing costs and improving reliability and management functions.
With the acquisition, WGM has hired Nimbus founder Jeff Beall, who will now serve as WGM’s vice president of business development.
“The Nimbus acquisition allows WGM to broaden our suite of managed IT services to include cloud technology providers such as Amazon Web Services, SherWeb, Savvis and Phoenix-based IO Data Centers,” said Chuck Matthews, CEO of WGM Associates. “Nimbus is an ideal addition to our technology solutions and with more than 20 years of industry experience, Jeff Beall brings broad expertise to the growing WGM team.”
Matthews said the acquisition further cements WGM’s leading position to provide IT solutions that are reliable, secure and cost effective. WGM prides itself on helping businesses use technology to foster efficiency, productivity and value. The firm serves a broad array of industry sectors including real estate, health care, professional services and nonprofit organizations.
“This is a strategic move by WGM,” said Tim FitzGerald, a noted industry expert and vice president of cloud solutions for Avnet Technology Solutions, Americas. “At Avnet, we understand and promote the power of cloud computing to help our solution provider partners and suppliers to accelerate their growth. We believe that a customer-centric approach like this provides efficiencies to businesses of all sizes.”
Beall added Nimbus provides a powerful suite of cloud computing solutions which are accessible and affordable. “This approach helps businesses optimize their technology infrastructure enabling a stable, predictable and profitable way to manage their business,” he said.
