Beauty and Propaganda, a lifestyle salon offering a whole new approach to beauty services, held its grand opening on Sunday, Feb. 14 at 7400 North Via Paseo Del Sur, Suite 104 in the Grove on Hayden shopping center. The one-stop shop offers a variety of services all under one roof providing guests the convenience of scheduling multiple services at once for the ultimate “me-time” pampering experience. In celebration, Beauty and Propaganda is offering a week of special offers, plus an exclusive grand opening party on Saturday, Feb. 20.

“Our uniqueness is what makes us all beautiful, and we want to make each guest feel like they’re part of a community where we celebrate differences, not flaws,” says Zuleika Zaragoza, who co-founded Beauty and Propaganda with sister and business partner Karla Zaragoza. “Beauty and Propaganda is about self-love on a regular basis, which may be different for everyone but that doesn’t mean you have to reserve it for a special occasion. Every single day we’re told what we’re supposed to look like, but we believe beauty is not a shape, size or color.”

During the opening week, Beauty and Propaganda is offering membership prices on all services plus a free enhancement scalp treatment with every blow dry service and either a free sugar scrub or an extra five-minute hand massage with every nail service. Guests can enjoy complimentary R+Co. hair product samples and Deborah Lippman nail product samples as well as refreshments as they are being pampered.

The grand opening party on Feb. 20 is “reservation required” with dedicated time slots to ensure limited attendance throughout the day. Party guests can enjoy complimentary mini treatments, and light bites and libations. RSVP required is via email to  hello@beautyandpropaganda.com. Guests must specify time slot — 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. or 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. — when they register.

A lifestyle salon that offers clients a whole new way to beautyBeauty and Propaganda allows members to choose from a variety of services that can be done in conjunction with one another to maximize an ultimate “me-day.” Fiercely dedicated to excellent customer service, the salon offers services such as a beautiful blow-out, a manicure and pedicure, eyelash extensions, make-up, and spray tanning.

Beyond just its services, Beauty and Propaganda aims to help women find confidence in their own form of beauty and to build a true community, which is why the salon also features classes such as make-up tutorials designed specifically for teens, or for women looking to keep up with the current trends. Rather than teaching make-up users how to “hide their flaws,” instruction is focused on highlighting guests’ favorite features so they can create both high-glam and everyday looks they love.

Beauty and Propaganda offers memberships with monthly fees starting at $80 including a credit towards a service, such as a gel manicure and a blowout. Additional services are offered at member discounted prices, and members receive perks like 10 percent off beauty products and retail merchandise, a free service on member’s birthday (valued at $45), and more.

At Beauty and Propaganda, clients’ and team members’ health is the most important priority, and the company is taking all necessary precautions to keep everyone safe. In addition to regular cleaning and sanitizing protocols, Beauty and Propaganda is taking extra measures including cleaning and sanitizing between each appointment and after every client; team members are required to wash hands before and after every appointment, wear a mask, and receive temperature checks; and sanitizing gel is available for client use at each working station. Clients are asked to respect social distancing requirements, wear a mask during service, and stay home if they are not feeling well or think they have been exposed to the virus. Beauty and Propaganda appreciate the cooperation and understanding of clients during this time.
