The coronavirus has hit the world hard, and it seems like we are all in a perpetual state of panic and worry these days. One of the biggest problems that has come about as a result of the quarantines and lockdowns that have been put in place are that we have seen a distinct shortage of everyday household products. This is something that you need to make sure you think about because there have been a number of issues as a result.

Many people have panicked and become worried that we are going to be mired in a recession, with lack of access to basic necessities, and they’ve started stockpiling as many items as they possibly can. One of the main products that was bought in bulk by people panic buying is toilet roll. And a lot of people across America, as well as the world in general, are running out of toilet paper fast.

These people are being forced to innovate and come up with new, unique, and effective ways of using alternatives. When you go to the toilet, you need to be able to clean yourself, and this is one of the reasons why toilet paper is so important. Now, there are plenty of alternatives that you can be using if you don’t have access to toilet paper, but it is important to make sure you follow the guidelines so you’re not flushing the wrong items down the toilet. This is causing greater damage than anybody might think.

Disinfecting wipes have seen a massive surge in sales since COVID-19 hit, as people are turning to them as a means of helping to combat the virus. However, the sudden influx in homes has led to more and more people using and flushing these antibac wipes at home. And this is causing so many problems due to the fact that these wipes are clogging up sewage pipes and creating blockages.

At home there are most likely to be a lot of things that can cause you to experience blocked drains and basement waterproof pipe problems. And the bottom line is that many of these issues are caused by the flushing of objects or items that are not meant to be flushed. This causes so many different problems and could result in bad smells, leaking, and other issues that need to be addressed at the same time.

If you are facing a toilet paper crisis at home, then you can get creative, and there are plenty of excellent ways to do this. But, you also need to familiarize yourself with what can and can’t be flushed so that you aren’t causing a risk to your own plumbing, and those of the neighborhood too.

And make sure you aren’t fooled by products that claim to be flushable but are not. For instance, according to New York City Department of Environmental Protection, not even the wipes that are dubbed ‘flushable wipes’ should be used here. Make sure you bag up anything waste-related that is not toilet tissue, and prepare for the shortage to last a while longer!
