The Arizona Biltmore Golf Club will begin a multi-phase renovation project in early April. The historic investment by the club’s ownership group, JDM Partners, follows consultation with neighbors, community stakeholders, the City of Phoenix and industry experts. JDM Partners’ approach to this unprecedented investment in the Arizona Biltmore Golf Club is simple – improve the facilities and courses to ensure they are preserved for the community and future generations. This is all to be accomplished in a manner consistent with the Arizona Biltmore Golf Club’s history and storied position among top international golf and resort destinations.

Douglas Fredrikson Architects is the architecture firm and will work with JDM Golf, along with Sundt Construction, to see the project to completion. Phase one of the renovation project is expected to be completed in early 2023 and will include a new golf shop and member facilities (located in one building) and underground cart storage. Located adjacent to the current Adobe clubhouse, the new golf shop building and underground cart storage will maximize space and provide a clean appearance to arriving members and guests. Once complete, parking at the golf club will be expanded and resort-style landscaping will blend seamlessly with the surrounding Biltmore community and resort.
The second phase of improvements include a new clubhouse and restaurant, replacing the existing event tent and clubhouse, which includes The Adobe Restaurant. This will also bring additional on-site parking and landscaping improvements. The new golf shop and clubhouse facilities will rival the recent investments in the Arizona Biltmore Hotel and Wrigley Mansion, bringing the Arizona Biltmore Golf Club on par with these world-class facilities.
The golf shop and clubhouse have been designed in the spirit of a luxurious estate, appropriate in scale and design with its immediate neighbors, with a purpose to enhance the community. The single-story clubhouse and restaurant building will sit on a canvas of grass with water features and colorful landscaping. In designing the new clubhouse, Douglas Fredrikson Architects incorporated many notable elements of the Biltmore Resort and community, including the signature concrete Biltmore block and patina copper fascia prominent in the resort’s motif.
“We sincerely appreciate the passion and nostalgia so many of our friends and neighbors have for this stunning oasis,” said JDM Partners principal, Jerry Colangelo. “We’d like to thank them for working with us to build a better Biltmore Golf Club.”
The Arizona Biltmore Golf Club’s golf courses (Adobe and Links) and existing clubhouse will remain open throughout phase one construction of the new golf shop and underground cart storage. With the construction activity, parking will be limited. Most days all parking will be valet only with no self-parking available.
Planning is also underway to renovate and restore the club’s Adobe Course while preserving its famous parkland setting. The Adobe Course, one of the state’s most historic golf courses, originally opened for play in 1929 and is a William Bell design. The renovation will infuse modern golf course design and water conservation technology so that golfers can continue to enjoy their rounds for another century. Scottsdale resident Tom Lehman, a five-time PGA TOUR champion and 1996 Open Championship winner, is leading the golf course design team with work expected to commence on the Adobe Course in 2023.
“The Arizona Biltmore Golf Club’s first century was spectacular,” adds Colangelo. “We’re excited about what is in store for the next 100 years.”
The Arizona Biltmore Golf Club is located in the shadow of the Phoenix Mountain Preserve. The 36-hole golf facility includes the Adobe Course and the Links Course. The Adobe’s lush fairways and spacious layout are a reminder of the way the game was meant to be played. The Links Course, the younger of the two Biltmore courses, has earned the respect of golfers as one of Arizona’s premier golf courses. Rolling fairways lined with pines meander through some of the most stunning homes in Phoenix. For nearly a century, the Arizona Biltmore Golf Club has been a destination for Phoenix residents, corporate leaders, celebrities and dignitaries. Today, under the unmatched expertise and experience of JDM Partners, who recently completed the revitalization of The Wigwam’s facilities in Phoenix’s West Valley, the iconic Arizona Biltmore Golf Club will soon return to the rankings of top international golf and resort destinations.
