Join leaders from the Town of Gilbert for the grand opening of Desert Sky Park on Wednesday, November 6th and be among the first to experience Gilbert’s new fitness-centered recreation space and a chance to earn the title of Desert Sky Warrior. The celebration takes place from 5:30 to 8:30 PM at 6624 S. Power Road, in between Williams Field and Pecos Roads.

The grand opening is sponsored by Hunter Contracting Co. and will mark the completion of the first phase of development at Desert Sky Park to include four multi-use fields, a fitness course, and a lake. Attendees who conquer the course will receive a commemorative dog tag necklace, declaring them a Desert Sky Warrior. They will also have the opportunity to meet Adam Rayl, a four-time national finalist on NBC’s “American Ninja Warrior”, who will be on hand as the town unveils the fitness playground, which is the first of its kind for Gilbert. The celebration will also include an all-ages fun run, inflatables, giveaways, food trucks and more.

Desert Sky Park is the second major recreational space to open in Gilbert in the last two months, following Gilbert Regional Park in late September. When fully built, the new park has the potential to incorporate 16 multi-use fields to help satisfy a need that the town identified in the 2015 Sports Needs Assessment
