This year’s Academy Awards made history when they awarded a foreign film as Best Picture. With an increased spotlight on foreign cinema, The Scottsdale International Film Festival  (SIFF) is sure to be a must explore for filmgoers in 2020. With all the heightened awareness on global cinema it’s a great time for the SIFF to announce its return for its 20th year.

The Scottsdale International Film Festival, (SIFF) a yearly 10-day event that connects audiences with award-winning cinema from around the world, celebrates it’s 20th annual festival starting on Friday, November 6 through Sunday, November 15, 2020.

SIFF will kick off opening night at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, November 6, moving to Harkins Shea 14 from November 7 through November 8, and to its third location at the Harkins Camelview at Fashion Square from November 9 through November 12. SIFF will return to Harkins Shea 14 on November 13 through November 15, for the remainder of its film screenings.

SIFF’s annual lineup will be announced on Tuesday, October 1, and will showcase more than 55 films from dozens of countries, originating from both first-time and seasoned filmmakers.

“I’m proud that the  Scottsdale International Film Festival is celebrating its 20th anniversary championing foreign films for new audiences. The recognition at the Academy Awards this year awarding a foreign film as the Best Picture of the Year excites me knowing more moviegoers are embracing films from all over the world,” stated SIFF Executive Director, Amy Ettinger.

With a curated selection of comedies, dramas, documentaries, thrillers and more, audience members will be sure to find their niche. SIFF encourages all attendees to bring their critical thinking skills and appreciation for the arts and get ready to immerse themselves into the world of cinema.
