With the food comas from Thanksgiving over and the countdown until Christmas already well under way (less than 30 days for those who are keeping track) it’s that wonderful time of the year when your schedule is full of holiday parties — be it with your favorite coworkers or your best friends. Holiday party attire in general can be tricky to get just right without looking like too cheesy or Griswald-like (unless there is, explicitly, and ugly sweater contest!), but commence the glitter, sequins and tinsel — because, this year, you’re going to hit the mark while looking hot at the same time with your attire.

No need to fret when you receive those invitations, because Scottsdale Quarter marketing director Alison Goodman and Intermix and Ruby Boutique has your covered with five outfits that are trending for the season and show off just the right amount of that flawless body of yours. Get ready to break all of the rules!

1. Glittery track pants

“Track pants are all the rage this winter and this pair from Ruby Boutique gets a glitzy update with sparkles. A casual white tank – a closet staple – is the perfect juxtaposition to a pair with sparkly pants, but be sure to throw a fitted black blazer on top. It’ll give the loose-fitting bottoms just the right amount of structure,” says Goodman.

2. Swap your LBD for a jumpsuit

“2014 has been the year of the jumpsuit and Ruby Boutique has the LBD version of this flattering one piece. The middle cutout is a nod to the ever-so-trendy crop top, but when you throw a Rachel Zoe-esque fur vest on top, you’re dressy in the most downtown of ways,” says Goodman.

3. Invest in pink

“Pink, pink, pink – get it now because this color is going to take us all the way through spring 2015. At Intermix, a fitted pencil skirt goes demure when its knee-length, but when it’s paired with a fitted crop top in the same pastel, it gives the outfit just the right amount of sexy. Throw a cozy gray cardigan on top to keep away the evening chills,” says Goodman.

4. Try a winter white

“Forget what you heard about ‘no white after Labor Day.’ Winter white: there’s really nothing more elegant and unexpected than the lightest of colors during the coldest of months. This sleeveless peekaboo dress from Intermix looks revealing, but underneath the white lace is a nude layer that will leave everything to the imagination. Be sure, this dress is not for the fashion-shy – it’ll get you noticed and is the perfect frock for a semi-formal gathering,” says Goodman.

5. Be daring in a crop top

“This outfit is one of my favorites for an after-work weekday office party: capitalizing on the crop top trend, this sheer white top from Intermix is the perfect counterpart to a pair of loose-fitting silk trousers in the ever popular pastel pink. If showing your midsection isn’t for you, pair the top with a high-waist black pencil skirt – you’ll only show a sliver of skin. The pants are also the perfect workday staple – just add a fitted black turtleneck sweater to keep things cozy,” says Goodman.
