The Town of Gilbert announced that it is taking responsibility to prioritize the health of Gilbert’s residents and employees to help flatten the curve and contain the spread of COVID-19, also known as coronavirus. In an effort to help limit opportunities to gather, Gilbert will be closing the following amenities at all public parks beginning at 8 AM this Saturday, March 28th: • Playgrounds • Freestone Skate Park • Fenced dog areas at Crossroads and Cosmo Parks • Splash pads • Basketball courts • Volleyball courts • Tennis courts • All of Gilbert Regional Park • Drinking fountains All open spaces, trails, walking paths and restrooms will remain open for public use from 5:30 AM to 10 PM. Social and physical distancing guidelines recommended by the CDC still apply in these areas.
