Rusty Spur Saloon, Scottsdale’s oldest bar, is celebrating its 70th year in business. A Scottsdale destination, visitors walk through swinging doors and are transported back through Arizona history.  Its claim to fame involved visits from an array of country music celebrities such as Dierks Bentley, Blake Shelton, Toby Keith, John Rich, Jake Owen, and Post Malone.

The saloon sits in a registered historic landmark that was the Farmer’s Bank of Scottsdale. The building was constructed in 1921and eventually renovated in 1951 to become what is known today as Rusty Spur Saloon. The bulk of the money and ledgers may be gone, but the vault is now filled with beer and liquor (the valuables)!

Under new ownership, the Rusty Spur Saloon is celebrating its 70th year in business. The previous owner, Susan Anderson, dedicated her search for a local owner that would appreciate the nostalgia of the old saloon. “Don’t fix it if it ain’t broke,” said Susan. “That’s what’s important to pass the torch.”

The new owners of the saloon are full-time Arizona residents that also own and operate six local restaurants including 32 SheaRed, White, & BrewBill’s Grill and Lakeside Bar & Grill.

“Our company mantra is ‘Local Places, Happy Faces’ and the Rusty Spur Saloon embodies this to a tee. The previous owner, Susan, did a fantastic job honoring and elevating the legacy of the Rusty Spur Saloon over the past 19 years. We’re humbled by the opportunity to lead this historic business into the future,” said new owner Bill Toole.

Regulars of Rusty Spur Saloon will notice no changes in this transition. The saloon serves lunch seven days a week and offers live entertainment seven days and nights a week. Swag of t-shirts, sweatshirts, baseball hats, and barware are always available for purchase.

Rusty Spur Saloon is located at 7245 E. Main St. in Scottsdale, Arizona, near the corner of Brown and Main Streets in Old Town Scottsdale. For hours, menu, and more information, please visit rustyspursaloon.com.
