The pizzeria is still owned and operated by second generation family members as Lou Malnati’s son, Marc Malnati, continues to build the company, carry on the family tradition and honor their legacy. Celebrating its 50th anniversary in business this year, Lou Malnati’s currently operates over 60 Chicagoland area restaurants, in addition to, Indianapolis, Milwaukee and Phoenix.
Malnati’s looks forward to opening a new location in the greater Phoenix area. The company notes that although this is the fifth Arizona location, Mesa has long been part of their expansion plans. The iconic pizzeria wants to provide a taste of Chicago to the Windy City transplants, baseball fans and local residents in the East Valley. “Since our first location opened in Arizona, we’ve been welcomed with open arms and are so grateful to our loyal fan base,” Marc Malnati said in a statement. “Our team is excited to expand in the Valley and make a home in the vibrant and thriving city of Mesa.”
