Spinato’s was just announced as the Specialty Food Association’s (SFA) 2019 sofi New Product Award winner. A coveted award in a $140 billion specialty food industry, sofi recognizes the top innovators in the industry. Spinato’s frozen Primavera Broccoli Crust Pizza was selected from among nearly 2,000 entrants by a national panel of specialty food experts. They will receive their sofi award at the Summer Fancy Food Show at the Javits Center, New York on June 23-25, 2019.

Primavera, as well as our other broccoli crust pizza flavors, is a standout in the premium frozen pizza category. SFA is a not-for-profit association with over 3,800 members in the US and abroad. The association has celebrated culinary excellence and creativity worldwide by recognizing the outstanding work of its members since 1952. A national panel of culinary experts, including chefs, culinary experts, academics, food writers, and category buyers selects the winners. Each entry is evaluated and scored according to excellence of taste and ingredients. New Product award winners receive an additional assessment for innovation.

Spinato’s introduced its new line of broccoli crust pizzas in 2018. It is offered in four flavors with hand-selected ingredients, including Slow-Roasted Tomato Margherita, Mediterranean-Style Supreme, and Aged Asiago, Romano & Mozzarella in addition to Primavera. All of Spinato’s recipe creations are made with its signature handmade pizza sauce, farm-fresh ingredients, certified gluten-free dough, and a healthy dose of Pie-Q.

Spinato’s retail distribution has grown rapidly to 1500 retail stores nationwide. Spinato’s plans for expanded distribution to over 1,000 additional storefronts this year.
