On Saturday, March 3, Tony Kasowski brings his edible landscape and urban farm knowledge to Sphinx Date Company Palm and Pantry, located at 3039 North Scottsdale Road, where he’ll teach novice gardeners tips and tricks to container gardening and small-space gardening.
“We’re so excited to bring Tony’s expertise to our customers and guests,” says Rebecca Seitz of Sphinx Date Company Palm and Pantry. “We pride ourselves on presenting local, artisan and natural products and Tony’s class is an extension of our mission.”
From 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on March 3, Kasowski educates guests on growing nutritious food on a patio, balcony, windowsill or raised bed; how to extend the growing season; and how to minimize pest damage. Cost for the class is $40. Guests are encouraged to bring new or old “problem plants,” planters or containers. Soil, amendments and plants will be available for purchase. Registration and more information available via www.sphinxdateco.com/tonygrowsfood.
