Finding novel experiences to celebrate life’s important milestones within a reasonable budget can be overwhelming, making it easy to play it safe and go with dinner plans — yet again. But for Valley residents set on trying something different, Tempe Boat Cruisin’ offers the chance to see Tempe Town Lake in a whole new way. Tempe Boat Cruisin’ is a custom-designed cycle boat ride that’s perfect for gathering loved ones, watching the sunset and snapping memorable photo-ops on the water.

In January 2026, Robert Mayer, founder of Arizona Party Bike, expanded his brand onto the water in collaboration with the City of Tempe, becoming the only cycle boat tour currently available. This curated outing includes adult beverages, a karaoke machine to belt your favorite songs, and professional captain and crew to ensure the experience is the right kind of memorable.

The boat can hold up to about 26 people, with 12 people at the peddle station. There is the option to paddle board, but not a requirement if you would much rather relax and enjoy the views, thanks to the electric motor. There is a restroom on board and life jackets if needed.

If you would like to make it a family experience, children under the age of 12 are required to wear a life jacket to ensure their safety on the boat. If anything happens to go overboard, don’t fret, there is a safe word, “Pineapple,” to let the crew know and help retrieve any lost items.

The cruise departs promptly at 5:00 p.m., so expect to arrive at the deck a little early before enjoying a brand-new way to soak in the great views Tempe Town Lake has to offer.
