Vestar, one of the largest privately held shopping center owners and managers in the western United States, has announced the opening schedule for Verrado Marketplace, the new 500,000-square-foot retail and lifestyle destination serving Buckeye and the West Valley. 

Anchor tenants Target, Marshalls and HomeGoods will officially open their doors this month, marking the first major wave of retailers at the highly anticipated development. Additional retailer openings in May include Ulta Beauty, Buckle, Famous Footwear and Bath & Body Works.

“The first wave of tenant openings marks an exciting milestone for Verrado Marketplace and the Buckeye community,” said Harrison Cole, leasing and development manager at Vestar. “With nationally recognized brands like Target, Marshalls and HomeGoods leading the way, we are bringing high-quality shopping, dining and everyday conveniences to the West Valley. This is just the beginning, and we look forward to welcoming more retailers throughout the year as the center continues to take shape.”

Target will be the first anchor tenant to open at Verrado Marketplace, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8 a.m. on May 17. Located at 1355 N. Verrado Way, the 148,000-square-foot store is expected to employ more than 140 team members and will offer everyday essentials, fresh groceries, seasonal merchandise, pickup and delivery services, CVS Pharmacy, Target Optical, Starbucks, a Disney Store and an Apple retail concept.

Additional anchor tenants, Marshalls and HomeGoods will open May 21, offering shoppers an ever-changing selection of fashion, home décor, furniture and unique finds.

Remaining retailers and service providers will continue opening over the next several months. Einstein Bros. Bagels, Elite Shutters and Blinds, Great Clips, Pacific Dental Services, NextCare Urgent Care, Paramount Hair and CityVet in June, followed by Ross Dress for Less in mid-July. Verrado Marketplace is projected to be fully open by January 2027 and will ultimately feature more than 55 retailers, including a curated mix of national and local brands, chef-driven restaurants and eateries, an array of services and the highly anticipated Harkins BackLot entertainment experience.

Designed as more than a shopping center, Verrado Marketplace will serve as a community gathering place with outdoor amenities including a splash pad, live performance stage with a large video screen and a half-acre community green surrounded by restaurants including, Ohso Brewery, SALT, Shake Shack, Thai Chili and the Emersa Speakeasy. The center will also introduce Vestar’s Sip & Stroll program, allowing guests 21 and older to enjoy alcoholic beverages in designated common areas. Regular programming, including live music, holiday celebrations and community events, will activate the property throughout the year.

Located at the northeast corner of Interstate 10 and Verrado Way, Verrado Marketplace sits at the entrance to DMB Associates’ 8,800-acre Verrado master-planned community. With a $275 million total investment, the development is projected to generate more than $50 million in tax revenue for the city of Buckeye, contribute an estimated $1.8 billion in economic output over the next 10 years and create more than 1,500 permanent jobs in the West Valley.
