Arizona-based Glacier Pool Coolers continues to be the leader in swimming pool chilling systems and announced it recently added three commercial pool chillers at The Scottsdale Plaza Resort. At a time when people are indulging in staycations, the popular chiller company is also seeing an increase in business with a staggering 300% difference over last year.
“We are living in unprecedented times and people are staying home,” said Glacier Pool Coolers owner, Rick Argovitz. “We are seeing a huge demand for our system both residentially and commercially. We couldn’t be more excited to help local venues like The Scottsdale Plaza Resort chill its pools during an extremely busy staycation season.”
Developed and patented by Argovitz in 2003, Glacier Pool Coolers works to cool pressurized water by airflow created by the unit’s fan. The chilled water is pumped back into the pool creating colder water over the next 12 to 14 hours. Temperatures can decrease by as much as 15 degrees. The fan-based system does not need Freon or gas and easily installs into existing pool plumbing systems and automated controls. It costs pennies a day to operate after it’s installed.
“The Scottsdale Plaza Resort has been thrilled with the feedback from our guests since the installation of the pool coolers,” said Senior Vice President of The Scottsdale Plaza Resort, Sean Sachs. “We all know the Valley of the Sun summers can make valley pools the largest hot tubs around. Because of the Glacier Pool Coolers, jumping into our pools during the hot summer months is refreshing. It is one thing that helps with repeat guests all summer long.”
The Scottsdale Plaza Resort is the latest in various commercial properties opting to keep water temperatures refreshing throughout the year. Situated on 40 lush acres of magnificently landscaped grounds and with over 40,000 square feet of flexible and functional meeting space, the Scottsdale Plaza Resort offers the perfect retreat for a staycation.
Additional resorts that have the pool coolers include the Westin Kierland Resort, Royal Palms Resort and Spa, The Wigwam Resort, Hotel Adeline, Aji Spa at Wildhorse Pass, JW Marriott Camelback, Talking Stick Resort and Casino, the Waldorf Astoria luxury hotels in Orlando and Key West, Florida and the Las Ventanas Resort in Los Cabos, Mexico. In addition to resorts, Rick and his wife Mindy, also co-owner of the company, further saw a need for the cooling system in other commercial properties including the Village Health Clubs, ASU Polytechnic, the Phoenix Zoo, and even active adult retirement communities such as Sun City Grand and West.
