With Oscar nominations announced this morning, it’s time to take a moment away from watching funny cat videos to watch some more funny cat videos. Established to commemorate the “unparalleled cinematic impact that cute and cuddly cats have had in 2015,” the 2016 Cat’s Meow Awards combines two of the world’s most powerful artistic forces: “award shows” and “Internet cats.” The winners of the 2016 “Cat’s Meow Awards,” for the funniest cat videos of the year, brought to you by Meow Mix brand, are:
‘Best Cat-hlete’ Nominees: Winner is Miricle and Panda in “Crazy Legs Panda” (Buckeye, AZ)
‘Best Kitty Hijinks’ Nominees: Winner is Melissa and Tux in “Tissue Box” (Endwell, NY)
‘Best Cat Cuddle’ Nominees: Winner is Lindsay, Manny, and Oliver in “Brother Snuggles” (Fayetteville, NY)
‘Best Cat Napper’ Nominees: Winner is Barb and Fritz in “Not a Care in the World” (Breckenridge, MI)
‘Wild Cat Card’ Nominees: Winner is Cara, Floof, and Poker in “The Floof Massage” (Cutler Bay, FL)
All of these nominees and winners not only embody the best Internet cat moments of 2015, but also highlight the one-of-a-kind (and often hilarious) bond that only cats and humans share. They sure give Best Picture nominee “Mad Max: ‘Furry’ Road” a run for its money, don’t they?
