Mane Attraction Salon has joined forces with RESCUE, a local nonprofit animal rescue organization, to host their 13th Annual Beauty to the RESCUE on March 3, 2013.
For a minimum donation ($30-$50 for haircuts, $10 for Deep Conditioning Masque, $20 for Blow Dry Style and $20 for Makeup Applications), anyone can partake in a day of personal pampering – all while raising funds to support RESCUE in its fight against pet euthanasia.
While human participants are beautifying themselves, they can pamper their pooches with an on-site mobile dog groomer as well as look into their pet’s past or future with an on-site pet psychic. Guests will also enjoy food and beverages, along with kid-friendly activities and live entertainment by the hip local bands Elvis Before Noon and Del Rey.
Dr. Grey Stafford from the Wildlife World Zoo will also be attending with his dog Venti to discuss reward-based dog training.
Enjoy brunch at Central Bistro, located next door to Mane Attraction. They will be donating a portion of their Sunday brunch sales to benefit RESCUE. Other vendors will include Millie’s Caramels, pet artist Chela Mischke, pieces by The Bottle Artist, a local artist who repurposes recycled wine bottles into home décor, Carol Cotton Design, and much more.
“We have a special place in our hearts for the pets RESCUE helps,” says Beate Ong, who owns and operates Mane Attraction with husband and fellow stylist Kendal Ong. One of the Ong’s pooches, Einstein, was a healthy, house-trained one-year-old when Kendall and Beate adopted him from RESCUE. “Healthy animals are being euthanized because they are not adopted and placed in loving homes. The real beneficiaries of this event will be the huggable animals that are adopted at this outstanding and important event.”
