- For a monthly rent of $1,500, renters in Scottsdale can only secure 675 square feet of space, which is the size of a roomy studio or a cozy one-bedroom apartment. For comparison, Tucson is your go-to for maximum space on a $1,500 budget in Arizona — this amount is enough to get you almost 900 square feet.

• A monthly rent of $1,500 pays for vastly different spaces across the U.S.: from 1,359 square feet in Wichita, KS, to just 228 square feet in Manhattan, NY.
• Significant variations exist even among major cities. Specifically, Houston offers 983 square feet for the same price, while Los Angeles provides only 439 square feet.
