UCP recognizes Circle K employees, customers and vendors for generously raising over $5.7 million for UCP of Central and Southern Arizona, and Opportunity Village in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Through year round 24-7 fundraising efforts at local stores and events throughout the State of Arizona, the 2016 fundraising total was $5,704,370.25. The funds donated support the organizations’ mission to help children and adults with disabilities including Down syndrome, autism, developmental delays, learning disabilities, cerebral palsy and the spectrum of disabilities.

Donations are collected every day at Circle K’s throughout Arizona, as employees ask customers to donate their extra change at the register to benefit families and children with disabilities.  In addition, a very kind donation from Circle K at the Desert Klassic golf tournament helped raise a record of $850,000 for UCP of Central Arizona’s important mission.

Circle K partnered with UCP of Central Arizona this year to open a new UCP Downtown location, including paying the lease until May 2017. With a growing number of individuals and families seeking and needing essential services in the Central Phoenix and East Valley regions of the County, this location provides an ideal opportunity for UCP to outreach even further.

This new location allows UCP to provide community programs so that more children and families, especially those who are low to moderate income, can receive the important services they deserve and need.

“With Circle K’s unwavering support, UCP has been able to help thousands of children, adults and families receive the essential services they desperately need to live a life without limits,” said Armando Contreras, CEO of United Cerebral Palsy of Central Arizona. “Circle K actively promotes a corporate culture that is deeply rooted in social responsibility, and without the dedication of Circle K, many in our community would be forced to go without the essential services they need to grow and thrive.

“For over three decades, Circle K, our vendor partners and loyal customers have been committed and beyond proud to be a part of the miracles that happen every day at UCP of Central Arizona,” said Paul Rodriguez, vice president of the Arizona Division of Circle K.   “Circle K is proud of our contributions and our commitment to the communities where we live and work. It lends greater meaning and higher purpose to each and every workday at Circle K. Everyone benefits, and we know we have helped to improve the quality of life in our community” concluded Rodriquez.
