Get ready to sit back and relax in some of the most comfortable movie theater seats in the Valley.  Pollack Tempe Cinemas, home of the $3 movie, $2 Tuesday movie and the place known for showcasing life-size stand-up wax figures of the stars, just added 1,432 new plush high-back theater seats.

The new seats arrived after Pollack Tempe Cinemas underwent a $400,000 digital conversion and equipped all six screens with brand new state-of-the-art digital projectors equipped with digital sound this summer.

The seats also come just in time for the “Grease” Sing-A-Long at Pollack Tempe Cinemas on March 20 and 24.

“Grease” fans are encouraged to arrive by 7 p.m. both nights dressed as their favorite character for an interactive evening of singing, games and fun all led by the Copperstar Repertory Company.

“If you love Grease and want to sing along and be part of one of the best movies ever made, this is the most interactive fun you can have without having to get up on the stage,” said Michael Pollack, owner of Pollack Tempe Cinemas. “We also have several more of these Sing-A-Longs planned to make this a regular event here at the Pollack Tempe Cinemas.”

Pollack said Sing-A-Longs will be held for “Annie” on April 24 and 28 and for the movie “Hairspray” on May 22 and 26.

Guests will enjoy the action from the comfort of those brand new seats just installed this month at the theater.

“We are so excited to not only bring these action-packed Sing-A-Longs, but also now offer our guests brand new digital equipment and what we believe are some of the most comfortable movie theater seats around,” said Pollack.

The digital conversion and new seats are just a few of the many changes since the Valley based real estate entrepreneur purchased Tempe Cinemas and its shopping center 10 years ago.
