Admit it. The idea of getting naked in Arizona intrigues some of you. A friend might dare you to go skinny dipping and you think about it. You click through the online slideshow from the Fetish Ball. Maybe posing nude for an artist interests you. You hear about Black’s Beach in San Diego and think about visiting the nude beach next time you hit up Cali.

If one of your bucket-list items includes getting naked in Arizona, you’re in luck. Here are six events — in alphabetical order — where you can free your inner exhibitionist and get naked in Arizona, with the comfort of knowing that there will be others there to share the bare experience with you.

But before you drop trou, you can brush up on Arizona’s indecent exposure laws here … just to be safe.

Bare Buns Desert Run

Thanks to Shangri La Ranch in New River, you can check running in the buff off of your running bucket list. The resort’s Second Annual Bare Buns Desert Run is scheduled for Oct. 6. It is a 5K run that offers a two-lap course around Shangri La’s desert property. Nudity for the run is strongly encouraged, but women may wear sports bras. Shangri La Ranch is a clothing-optional, family friendly resort and all ages are welcome to participate and enjoy the day. Registration for the run includes a day visit to the resort, so you can cool off in the refreshing pools after the run.

Naked in Arizona hot springs

If you’re looking for a relaxing group nudist experience, head to Desert Pete at El Dorado Hot Springs, a communal, nude-only area with a small relaxation area, shower, tub and chairs for hanging out. El Dorado Hot Springs is 40 miles west of Phoenix and is a rustic, western-style mineral water spa located over an enormous natural subterranean hot spring. If you prefer privacy, you can book a private soaking pool.  Verde Hot Springs near Sedona also offer you the opportunity to relax and get naked with strangers.

International Skinny Dip Day

The American Association for Nude Recreation has officially designated the second Saturday in July as International Skinny Dip Day. Each year, clothing optional clubs and resorts across the country take part in International Skinny Dip Day and Shangri La Ranch in New River looks to keep breaking its past record by getting more than 200 naked people into the pool together.

Naked hiking

The Verde Valley Nudists and Naturists meetup group organizes groups that go naked hiking together. The groups can range in size from 3-36, depending on the date and the location of the hike. The Verde Valley group prides itself on being a family oriented organization and does not discriminate against a person for their age, sex, body size, shape or disability. Clothing is optional for first-time hikers with the group, so they can work their way to hiking nude at their own pace.

Naked yoga

Interested in trying nude yoga? Every Saturday at 1 p.m. with Megan Leigh Yoga, you can learn to “Love the Skin You’re In” during a calm clothing-optional, co-ed yoga practice where participants shed their clothes, along with their egos. In addition, Totem Yoga hosts six nude yoga classes weekly for men only. Bring a towel and body-positive mindset while you get naked in Arizona, while also doing something healthy for your body.

No Pants Light Rail Ride

While you cannot get completely nude for this one without the risk of law enforcement interference, Improv AZ has been organizing the annual No Pants Light Rail Ride for the last decade. The No Pants Light Rail Ride is done in conjunction with the No Pants Subway Ride, an annual event staged by Improv Everywhere every January in New York City. The date changes from year to year and the 2019 date will be announced in early December.
