Prickly Pear Kitchen: Inspired Food + Cocktails officially opens in Page, Arizona this week bringing the city an elevated, yet approachable culinary offering that marries Southwest and Sonoran flavors and highlights dishes inspired by generational family recipes.

The restaurant is located within Canyon Country’s leading adventure-focused hotel, Hyatt Place Page/Lake Powell, and is the brainchild of the hotel’s general manager, Nadia Santacruz. Pulling inspiration from her Sonora, Mexico roots and fond memories of cooking with her grandmother and mother, Santacruz helped curate a menu that combines rich Arizona flavors and edible plant life with locally sourced spices, fresh proteins and seasonal produce.

“Travelers from all over the world come to Page and Lake Powell to experience one of the country’s most spectacular landscapes and explore the area’s national parks and attractions, so with our opening we’re looking forward to also showcasing how our region expresses itself through food and drinks,” said Santacruz. “With Prickly Pear Kitchen, we’re taking my own personal family recipes and infusing a Southwestern flair. I’m really proud of the made-from-scratch sauces, dressings and soups and we look forward to welcoming locals and travelers to join us for a great meal with some of the best sunset views in the city.”

Open daily for lunch and dinner with prices ranging from $10-$18, a few standouts from the menu include Mighty Green Dip with cactus, spinach, artichoke and queso fresco; Chicken Tortilla Soup, a blend of grilled chicken breast, consommé broth, roasted peppers, tomatoes, onions and topped with tortilla strips; Prickly Pear Cactus Quinoa Salad with steamed red quinoa, salted-cured cactus, kale, broccoli, carrots, brussels sprouts, cranberries and drizzled with house made pear vinaigrette; Southwestern Alfredo with Romano and ricotta tortellini tossed in classic alfredo sauce, roasted corn, black beans, queso fresco and cilantro; and Mango Habanero Tofu Tacos with mango habanero tofu, spinach, citrus slaw and cilantro.
