American Solar & Roofing (ASR) is commemorating a milestone anniversary in 2026 as it celebrates 25 years making solar energy attainable for families and businesses. The company was Arizona’s first solar installer when it was established in 2001 and led the way in shaping the then-emerging solar industry. Today it is the state’s only dually licensed solar power installer and roofing company and the most trusted solar installer in Arizona.

This trust, vision and leadership is something President and CEO Joy Seitz remains committed to as American Solar & Roofing honors its 25-year impact on the industry, homeowners and communities.
“We have seen how solar has given people the power of choice and let them live life their way,” said Seitz. “From the ability to protect their families from bill pressure, to opportunities to adopt smart home and future-thinking technologies into their homes, to taking proactive measures to protect the planet.”
The residential solar industry was a nascent idea when American Solar & Roofing was founded in 2001. Company founders took the charge to create the environment and framework needed to offer homeowners on-grid solar. This included protecting consumers as the new industry grew. American Solar & Roofing founded the Arizona Chapter of the Solar Alliance and the Arizona Solar Deployment Alliance as part of these efforts.
In 2014, Seitz took the helm as CEO and continues the company’s commitment to affect revolutionary change for its employees, customers and community.
“Progress happens when people build the future together,” she said. “Nobody was thinking that solar power had potential 25 years ago – potential as a business, potential as an energy demand solution. American Solar & Roofing thrives today because of our vision and commitment to the benefits of solar power.”
Looking ahead to what’s next in the industry, Seitz is seeing the relationships between consumers, utilities and governing bodies enter a new stage.
“After two decades of adoption and education, residents understand how they consume electricity and the limits to our current resources,” she said. “Utilities and elected leaders have the opportunity to leverage the knowledge and technology that customers have been learning about and investing in for 25 years.”
As American Solar & Roofing marks its anniversary, Seitz will be visiting neighborhoods around the state in a Celebration & Community Tour. The events are a chance for Seitz to connect with residents and city leaders about topics that impact the way they live life their way.
