As an official sponsor of the Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee, Avnet is showcasing what being a global company headquartered in Phoenix is all about.

The community is invited to visit the Avnet booth during the Super Bowl Experience Feb. 9-12 at Hance Park. Look for the large green Avnet A-frame on the south side of the park, near Moreland Street and Second Avenue.

The booth’s theme is “in your backyard” and visitors will experience an outdoor setting, a daily drone giveaway, a mural painted by local artist Meg Stapp with a postcard replica giveaway, cornhole games and other fun activities.

While at the booth, learn why Avnet is a great employer and understand the essential role the company plays in the electronic components supply chain.


Avnet will give away a drone daily as part of booth activities. Visitors can guess the number of mini footballs in the large Avnet A-frame and submit their answers via the NFL One Pass app. Learn more by visiting the Avnet booth.


Designed and painted by Meg Stapp, the mural represents the native plants in the Sonoran Desert and special icons of the valley. Visit with the artist at the booth on Friday, Feb. 10, from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 11, from 2-4 p.m. Stickers of the mural will also be available and the artist also will sign postcards.

Volunteer engagement

Avnet employees have been supporting event-related volunteer projects. A team from Avnet’s human resources department recently volunteered at a Super Bowl Youth Clinic. The event took place in partnership with the Ft. McDowell Yavapai Nation. The youths at the clinic enjoyed games and activities such as bubble soccer, human hamster wheel, an inflatable football station and inflatable tires.

A team of Avnet employees also volunteered a recent Saturday morning to help clean up the lower Salt River. The event kicked off Green Week for the NFL, an initiative that started in 1993 and works to mitigate the environmental impact of the NFL’s major events and create a “green” legacy in each community that hosts a Super Bowl. The event involved over 300 volunteers who picked up trash along the entire lower section of the Salt River.
