Phoenix Children’s Hospital Sports Medicine Clinic will be coming to The BLVD. Ideally located next to the American Sports Center, Arizona’s largest indoor sports complex with over 500,000 visitors annually, Phoenix Children’s will operate a physical therapy, rehabilitation and education center providing sports medicine and orthopedic rehabilitation specifically for the youth and high school community in the West Valley.
The facility is scheduled to open in 2021.
On November 2, 2020, The City of Avondale and Phoenix Children’s Hospital Inc. entered into a Lease Agreement for the 7,880-square-foot facility located at 765 N. 114th Avenue in Avondale.
“Avondale is excited that Phoenix Children’s will be part of this growing area, as they will be a perfect fit at the sports complex.” said Ken Chapa, Avondale’s Economic Development Director. “We welcome the clinical expertise, and the expansion of new full-time medical jobs in Avondale.”
In 2013, Phoenix Children’s chose Avondale to locate the Phoenix Children’s Southwest Valley Specialty Care Center, a 35,000 square foot facility, located at 1665 N. Avondale Blvd., Avondale. The unique specialty and urgent care center provides specialty-doctor appointments, follow-up care, lab work and transfusions. At night and on weekends, the facility transforms into a pediatric urgent-care center.
The expansion will supplement specialty care needs in the West Valley specific to pediatric sports medicine.
“We are pleased to expand access to Phoenix Children’s high-quality sports medicine physical therapy services for residents of Avondale and the surrounding area in the coming year,” said Robert L. Meyer, president and CEO, Phoenix Children’s. “The West Valley’s pediatric population is projected to increase from more than 400,000 children today to nearly 500,000 by 2030. This state-of-the-art clinic will help us deliver the right care at the right time and place for this growing community.”
The Phoenix Children’s Sports Medicine Clinic is the latest addition within the Park Avenue District at The BLVD, the West Valley’s next hot spot for investment. Recent locates have included Residence Inn by Marriott and My Place Hotels, Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites.
Coming soon to the Park Avenue District at The BLVD is Avid Hotels, Dutch Bros Coffee, Avari Apartment with over 354 residential units planned and The Village at The BLVD with over 187 detached 1-story rental units planned.
