Rory Carder appointed co-managing director of Gensler
Gensler, the leading architecture, design, and planning firm, announces the appointment of Rory Carder to Co-Managing Director of Gensler Phoenix. In her new role, she will lead collaboratively with Martha dePlazaola Abbott in what is a benchmark of the firm’s co-leadership model. Martha and Rory make a dynamic team by delivering client value, empowering Gensler’s team of designers, and providing open and transparent leadership styles.
Rory is a recognized market leader with 25 years of experience, with a focus on designing high impact workplace experiences. As a Principal, Studio Director, and Operations Director, Rory has played an integral role in the strategic growth and positioning of Gensler’s Phoenix office. Her appointment to the leadership team represents Gensler’s commitment to design excellence as a leader in delivering transformational workplaces for clients while continuing its growth in residential, hospitality, technology, and public sectors.

WestPac Wealth Partners opens Gilbert office
WestPac Wealth Partners, recognized by Inc. as one of the 5,000 fastest growing companies in the United States, has opened its 24th office in Gilbert AZ at Heritage Marketplace, 366 N. Gilbert Rd.
The San Diego-based wealth management company has opened its second Arizona office in the East Valley city of Gilbert. The Gilbert location joins the already functioning Scottsdale office in the state and becomes the company’s 24th office in more than 12 states. The new office, which opened on June 5, will initially operate with a Managing Director, Business Development Manager and five financial representatives. Founded in 2007, WestPac offers offices in Hawaii, California, Arizona, Oregon, Nevada, Montana and more. The firm currently manages in excess of $2.5 billion in assets on behalf of more than 35,000 clients. WestPac’s insurance placements total a $17 billion face amount with recurring in force premiums in excess of $170 million.

Ware Malcomb announces promotion of Braden Blake
Ware Malcomb, an award-winning international design firm, today announced Braden Blake, AIA has been promoted to Director, Architecture in the firm’s Phoenix office. In this role, Blake will be responsible for the leadership of the office and continued growth of the Architecture studio in the region.
Blake has more than 15 years of architectural design expertise. He initially joined Ware Malcomb in 2018 as a Project Manager prior to being promoted to his most recent role of Studio Manager. In that role, he proved instrumental in growing market share, while implementing staff training and best practices. Blake has experience with a wide variety of project types including industrial, manufacturing, corporate and medical office, multifamily, retail and mixed-use.
“Braden’s proactivity within our growing multifamily practice, and continued success in the industrial and medical office markets have expanded the Phoenix office’s reputation as leaders both locally and regionally,” said Douglas Gullo, Regional Director, Ware Malcomb. “He is a widely respected leader and staff mentor. Blake earned Bachelor of Arts in Design and Master of Architecture degrees at Arizona State University. He is a licensed Architect in Arizona, a member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) and The American Institute of Architects (AIA). He is an active member of National Association for Industrial and Office Parks (NAIOP) and is a NAIOP Young Professionals Group (YPG) alum. He also sits on AIA’s 10 Young Architect’s committee and recently served as moderator of AIA’s conversation series on Practice Management.
