Background: Otten advises business owners and operators in corporate law matters such as contracts, dispute resolution, and outside general counsel advice, with particular experience advising companies in the cannabis industry. Leading the firm’s cannabis and hemp practice, she advises plant-touching and ancillary cannabusinesses in corporate matters and regulations particular to the industry.
Upcoming challenge: “Changes in government regulations and law, including at the federal level, and the timing of those changes, are quite unpredictable in this industry. Because of that, it’s important to keep on top of the proposed regulations and legislation, follow what’s happening at the national level, and stay informed on updates occurring locally.”
Surprising fact: “I think there are a lot of surprising facts about me, but here are a few: I love to bake cakes, cookies, and all sorts of pastries; I speak French; I’m a fan of metalcore and hard rock music; and I have personally done a lot of tile work and other hard, hands-on construction activities for many investment property and home renovations.”
