FirstBank Holding Company, a holding company with 16 banking locations throughout Arizona, announced the bank has surpassed $1 billion in loan originations since opening its first state branch in 2007. The loans are a mixture of commercial real estate, business, individual home loans and for non-profit organizations.

To celebrate, all 16 FirstBank branches in Arizona will have a cake for their visitors in the lobby on Tuesday, September 22. Anyone from the public is invited to stop in, not just current bank customers.

FirstBank’s success is due to many factors but an integral reason is its strong local ties and commitment to the community displayed in the bank’s first eight years in Arizona.

FirstBank partners with many Arizona businesses of all sizes, offering a full range of loan products. The bank has a strong reputation for working on local projects that help redevelop neighborhood districts, transforming them into highly sought and livable areas.

“At FirstBank, our customers have a local connection for all their banking needs backed by a strong financial organization with more than $15 billion in assets,” said FirstBank’s Phoenix Metro President, Bryce Lloyd. “We’re very excited to have helped so many businesses in Arizona, and to help shape the landscape through several construction projects.”

“We’re thrilled that we chose FirstBank as they have been very easy to work with to help complete our Portland on the Park project which is bringing new condos downtown,” said Tim Sprague, principal with Habitat Metro, LLC, who is the co-developer with Sunbelt Holdings on the Portland on the Park project. “Building a project of this size involves a lot of moving pieces and FirstBank allowed us to move forward with confidence.”

FirstBank is also known for giving back by working with area nonprofit organizations to help them serve the community and often stepping up with donations and sponsorships. Since 2000, FirstBank has contributed more than $50 million and thousands of volunteer hours to charitable organizations in the three states it serves.

“We are strong believers that to succeed, we have to partner with our neighbors and help them become successful,” said Joel Johnson, East Valley President for FirstBank. “We are very involved in each and every community where we do business; together this makes Arizona a stronger place.”

“FirstBank has been a wonderful partner for Chicanos Por La Causa.  They assisted us with a creative loan that allowed us to deliver 24 units of housing that we will provide for the Tumbleweed Center for Youth Development,” said David Adame, President/CEO of Chicanos Por La Causa. “FirstBank is very active on several community boards and organizations, proving that they really are out to help Arizona.”

FirstBank is a strong mortgage lending organization in Arizona, and the bank looks to help Arizonans who want to be first time homeowners. The bank recently partnered with Trellis to provide $1 million in assistance for potential homebuyers.

“When we entered the Arizona market eight years ago, the housing market and economy in general were in flux,” said FirstBank’s West Valley President Kevin Clausen. “Home ownership and the ability to get a home loan is essential to both family stability and a strong economy, we’re excited to have played a role in helping our Arizona neighbors and to encourage the housing recovery in our State.”

FirstBank opened its first location in Arizona in 2007 and has since expanded to 16 locations. All Arizona branches offer a full range of services, including the Anywhere Account, Free Business Checking, mortgages, home equity loans and commercial loans. The bank is the main sponsor of Arizona Give Day, a 24-hour online giving initiative aimed at increasing individual giving throughout the state.
