Desert Financial Credit Union debuted the redesign of Phoenix Children’s Hospital’s 1 Darn Cool School on Tuesday, Sept. 25. The unveiling took place following a program at 10 a.m. in the hospital’s cafeteria featuring a patient family and Desert Financial Credit Union and Phoenix Children’s speakers.
1 Darn Cool School is Phoenix Children’s Hospital’s in-house education center where patients can continue studies while in treatment, guided by professional, state-certified educators. Desert Financial Credit Union will continue its ongoing support of 1 Darn Cool School with a $2 million commitment over the next three years.
“1 Darn Cool School offers Phoenix Children’s patients a sense of everyday normalcy while they’re in the hospital for treatment,” said Steve Schnall, senior vice president and chief development officer at Phoenix Children’s Hospital Foundation. “Patients are often at our hospital for months and years. Desert Financial Credit Union’s support of this essential program allows those kids to continue their education without slipping behind. We cannot thank them enough for their generous support.”
Desert Financial Credit Union redesigned the school with fun, engaging creative to inspire learning and provide an atmosphere of encouragement.
