The Scottsdale Charros appointed Scottsdale native and lifelong resident Dennis Robbins as its new executive director.
“I am very excited to be leading the Scottsdale Charros in this capacity,” Robbins said. “The Scottsdale Charros is a premier community service organization and its members are great community stewards. I look forward to continuing to make a positive impact on our city, public schools and charities.”
Most recently, Robbins served as an attorney with Davis Miles, PLLC and has been the president of local Midas Auto Service Franchisee, Deamma, Inc. for nearly 25 years. He is a graduate of California Lutheran University and holds a JD from Pepperdine University School of Law.
Robbins has been very active in the Scottsdale community and a member of numerous civic and philanthropic organizations. He served two terms on the Scottsdale City Council, is the past-president of the Scottsdale Education Foundation and a former board member of the Scottsdale Area Chamber of Commerce and the Scottsdale Convention and Visitors Bureau. Robbins joined the Scottsdale Charros in 1995 and has held a number of leadership roles in the organization including chairman of the education and ride committees, patron (president) of the Concilio (executive committee) and president of The Charro Foundation.
“We are excited to have Dennis help lead the Scottsdale Charros,” said Dan Postal, patron of the Scottsdale Charros. “Dennis has been an outstanding leader in our community for years and his knowledge and genuine commitment to the city will help serve the Scottsdale Charros and our community partners well.”
Last year, the Scottsdale Charros awarded more than $750,000 to local charities, schools and in college scholarships and fellowships.
The Scottsdale Charros, a volunteer group of business and civic leaders, are dedicated to serving and supporting SUSD students, teachers and schools through a broad spectrum of educational programs. With a history of innovative fundraising, the Charros have leveraged spring training baseball as a chief economic driver in Scottsdale. Funds raised throughout the year are donated back to local charities, making the Charros one of the community’s largest philanthropic contributors.
