As 2013 comes to a close, the Phoenix Suns are near the top of the NBA’s Western Conference—and the U.S. Navy League and the Central Arizona Mountain Rescue Association (CAMRA) have more money for the good work they do, thanks to the Suns’ sharpshooters.
For more than 10 years Tempe-based Fulton Homes has partnered with the Phoenix Suns for the Fulton Homes “Proud to own the Three-Point Zone” program. This season when a Phoenix Suns player nets a three-pointer, Fulton Homes writes a $100 check to either the U.S. Navy League or CAMRA. After 26 games the Suns have drained 265 three pointers, equating to more than $26,500 for the Navy League and CAMRA to share.
The Navy League of the United States is an organization that serves, supports all the sea services – U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Coast Guard and U.S.-flag Merchant Marine. CAMRA performs search and rescue mission throughout Arizona. CAMRA has rescued thousands of people and saved hundreds of lives since its inception in 1969.
“As the Suns keep improving their three-point game and contend for the title, we will be able to support the U.S. Navy League and the good work they do for military families and youth through programs such as the Naval Sea Cadet Corps, Junior ROTC and Young Marines,” Doug Fulton, CEO of Fulton Homes, said. “This money also goes to CAMRA and the lives they save through rescue missions.”
Last year alone through the Three-Point Zone program, Fulton Homes donated $46,000 between the U.S. Navy League and CAMRA. In previous seasons, Fulton Homes has donated more than $206,000 over to local charities through Phoenix Suns Charities.
