The names of 1,020 participating local nonprofits have been written on the Post-it notes that make up the mural, which says “Gives Day azgives.org April 4”.

Arizona Gives Day will be held on Tuesday, April 4. The event is a 24-hour online campaign that encourages Arizonans to give to nonprofits of their choice throughout the day.

Since the campaign’s first year in 2013, Arizona Gives Day has raised over $7.4 million for Arizona nonprofits, raising over $2.8 million last year alone.

FirstBank is the presenting sponsor of Arizona Gives Day and wanted to help promote the campaign with a unique piece of art. The mural is visible for pedestrians and those driving by in the area.

Local artist, Debra Lee Murrow of COLORME Art Spa coordinated the art design and installation of the mural. Volunteers from Valley of the Sun United Way, Voices for CASA Children and Rosie’s House worked on the mural.

“FirstBank is proud to be involved with such an incredible day of giving to local nonprofits,” says Bryce Lloyd, President Phoenix Metro, FirstBank. “We believe in promoting strong communities through our support of the vibrant nonprofit sector in Arizona.”
