Washington Federal, a full-service national banking institution with 30 branches across Arizona, was proud to donate $2,500 to the Phoenix Children’s Hospital Foundation and $1,000 to the Tumbleweed Center for Youth Development, respectively, in October through its Washington Federal Foundation corporate giving program.
The mission of the Washington Federal Foundation is to facilitate direct giving to community-based nonprofits serving the needs of low and moderate-income individuals.
“Washington Federal believes that the relationships we have with our local communities are as important as those we share with our clients, stockholders and employees. We believe we have an obligation to operate in a responsible, sustainable manner which supports the health and vibrancy of the communities we serve,” said Mike Brown, Arizona regional president of Washington Federal. “It is with this goal that the Washington Federal Foundation was founded.”
The Foundation is currently accepting grant requests from local organizations like Phoenix Children’s and Tumbleweed across Arizona. “In just the past few years, we’ve been able to award more than $40,000 in grants across Arizona,” said Brown, with an eye to doing even more as the bank moves into 2017 – its Centennial anniversary year.
