Scott Morey is the new chief nursing officer at Abrazo West Campus in Goodyear, and will be in charge of the professional nursing practice, staffing effectiveness and clinical operations for all patient care services.

“Scott is a seasoned nurse executive with more than 16 years’ experience of combined clinical and management experience. His knowledge and deep commitment to nursing makes him an excellent fit for our innovative team. He is both skilled and prepared to lead our efforts to enhance the health of our community and advance our mission,’’ said Stan Holm, Abrazo West Campus Chief Executive Officer.

Morey’s focus is to ensure all departments within Abrazo West Campus work as one healthcare delivery team to deliver safe, quality, cost effective care. Abrazo West Campus, 13677 W. McDowell Road, has more than 900 associates and has been serving patients since 2003.

Most recently, Morey served as Abrazo Maryvale Campus Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Operating Officer.

He began his clinical career as a staff nurse in the critical care areas. He served as Director of Emergency Services at Phoenix Baptist Hospital. Prior to his work with Phoenix Baptist Hospital, he worked as Director of Telemetry and Emergency Services at Phoenix Memorial Hospital.

In 2011, he was selected to attend the Vanguard Leadership Academy, and was the first of this class in the Phoenix market to be promoted to an executive leadership role as a direct result of his participation in this program. He is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives.

Morey received his Bachelors in Nursing from D’Youville College in Buffalo, N.Y and went on to earn his Master’s in Business Administration – Healthcare Management from University of Phoenix in Phoenix.
