Scottsdale-based Plexus Worldwide, a direct-marketing weight-loss and health-supplement seller, announced that effective February 1, 2016, Alec Clark’s title changed to President of Plexus Worldwide and Cindy Latham will join the executive team as chief marketing officer (CMO).
Clark, who has more than 24 years leadership experience in the network marketing industry, first joined Plexus as CMO in 2011 and became a co-owner in 2012. At his start, Plexus only had a handful of employees, about 1,000 Ambassadors and less than $1 million in annual sales.
“As Plexus began to grow Alec and his team became the catch-all, overseeing many projects and departments beyond those related to marketing,” said Tarl Robinson, CEO of Plexus Worldwide. “This realignment of title better reflects Alec’s true role within the company.”
“My passion for our Ambassadors and our products has never been stronger,” Clark said. “I feel so blessed to work with so many good and talented people. Being part of this amazing company’s growth has been a career highlight and I’m so excited to continue to play a role in its long-term growth and future.”
Clark will continue to oversee many of Plexus’ external and Ambassador-facing departments including those responsible for events, education, sales, business development, communications, social media and community involvement.
As CMO, Latham will oversee Plexus’ product marketing, market research, research and development, creative services, digital marketing and branding.
“Cindy is already well known within the direct selling and natural health industry and has more than 25 years experience leading global marketing sales and product teams,” Robinson said. “Cindy was in high demand, and we’re very fortunate to have her join us as part of the Plexus leadership team.”
“I was immediately impressed by the company’s staff and senior leaders and I’m thrilled to join the talented Executive team at Plexus Worldwide,” Latham said. “I’m excited to utilize my product marketing and development expertise to help the company continue on its incredible growth trajectory.”
Most recently Latham served as consultant representing clients such as Stella & Dot. As Senior Vice President of Global Marketing for the Shaklee Corporation, she was responsible for the development, marketing and launch of 90 percent of products sold by Shaklee. Earlier in her career Latham was the Vice President of Marketing for Quorum International and the Director of Marketing for the Fuller Brush Company. A regular speaker and panelist at industry organizations and events, she is an honors graduate of the University of St. Thomas and Carleton College.
