Western Alliance Bank announced today that Steven Odenkirk has been named executive vice president, southern region manager for Alliance Bank of Arizona in Tucson.

In his new role, Odenkirk will lead the Alliance Bank’s regional presence which includes two banking locations and 36 employees. Odenkirk’s appointment follows the March retirement of Duane Froeschle, who held multiple senior executive positions within Alliance Bank of Arizona and Western Alliance Bancorporation.

A recognized local leader in commercial finance, Odenkirk most recently served as the principal of Peritus Commercial Finance, a consulting practice where he brokered more than $175 million in loans. During his nearly ten years at Peritus, he served in consulting roles ranging from chief credit officer to debtor consultant. Prior to his work at Peritus, Odenkirk was the chief credit officer of Canyon Community Bank, N. A., producer- commercial mortgage banker at CBRE Capital Markets and manager of Tucson-area commercial real estate for Wells Fargo.

In addition to his professional contributions, Odenkirk lends his time to a number of local community organizations as a board member of the Pima County Real Estate Research Council and Assistant Scoutmaster for Boy Scouts of America. He has also previously served as a youth coach for the YMCA, AYSO and recently as an assistant soccer coach at Ironwood Ridge High School.

Odenkirk holds an MBA in Management from Arizona State University and is a graduate of Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill.  He also holds a National “C” level soccer coaching license from the United States Soccer Federation.
