Rachael Goodwin starts role as interim town manager

Following the retirement of Grady Miller as Town Manager, Deputy Town Manager and Community Services Director Rachael Goodwin was appointed Interim Town Manager for the Town of Fountain Hills effective April 1, 2023.

Goodwin has been a part of the Town staff for more than nine years and has served in municipal government for almost 20. She started her career with the Town of Fountain Hills as the Recreation and Events Manager, and in 2017 took over the role of the Community Services Director. In July 2023, she was named one of two Deputy Town Managers to help represent the town on regional and statewide platforms.  

She is a Lumberjack and Sun Devil with a bachelor’s degree from Northern Arizona University and a master’s degree in public administration from Arizona State University. She has served on several regional boards, including the Arizona Parks and Recreation Association. She is a national judge for the American Academy of Parks and Recreation Administration Gold Medal program.

Miller worked for the Town of Fountain Hills since 2014 and was appointed Town Manager on July 1, 2015. He worked as Administrative Services Director for one year prior to his unanimous appointment to Town Manager.  During his tenure, Miller led the Town under the direction of two mayors and multiple Council members during a period of tremendous economic growth following the Great Recession.  

REDW taps Kerry Prine as chief operating officer

As COO, Prine will drive performance, change management, resource management accountability, workflow efficiencies, and innovation while continuing to provide an extraordinary professional experience for REDW’s clients and team. This is the first time the firm has had a COO in its 70-year history.

Prine, who will divide his time among REDW’s Albuquerque, Oklahoma City, and Phoenix offices, brings 30 years of experience to the role, most notably working 16 years at Fidelity Investments in several leadership positions, including as Senior Vice President and Vice President of Operations. He also served as both Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer of Apeiron Zoh, a global leader in optimizing health, well-being, and performance through precision genomics and epigenetic science, and as Executive Advisor for Guidepoint Global Advisors, a multinational business and management consulting firm. He has also held leadership positions with Ceridian and Namely.

OneAZ Credit Union promotes Liza Buchanan to SVP marketing

OneAZ Credit Union announced that Liza Buchanan has been promoted to SVP of Marketing Operations. 

“Liza has been emblematic of our mission to improve the lives of our members and communities. She has been a champion of promoting greater communication and collaboration between departments and has worked to optimize business partner relationships and campaign strategies. Liza has also been a tireless advocate for local nonprofit organizations in the communities we serve,” said Deborah Pearson, EVP Chief Marketing and Experience Officer.

Liza’s experience includes over 20 years in marketing, strategic planning, business management, and community development. Before joining OneAZ in 2022, Liza served as Director of Rural Programs for Local First Arizona and Founder of Ignite Brand Marketing. Additionally, Liza is an Adjunct Professor for University of Phoenix and serves on the Multicultural Advisory Board for ONE Community. 

Liza has also been nationally recognized by the Boys & Girls Club of America for nonprofit digital marketing and strategy development. She received her master’s degree in Business Administration from Grand Canyon University and her B.A. in Marketing from Arizona State University.

G&K shareholder Dalva L. Moellenberg appointed to the Board of Regents

Gallagher & Kennedy announced that attorney Dalva “Dal” L. Moellenberg has been appointed to the Board of Regents for Western New Mexico University. New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham appointed Dal to a six-year term, effective immediately.

Dal joined G&K 28 years ago and has managed G&K’s Santa Fe office for 11 years. He primarily represents regulated industries in the areas of environmental and natural resources, including water quality and water rights, Superfund, hazardous waste, mining and mined land reclamation, and oil and gas. His experience includes all types of administrative proceedings, including rulemaking, permitting and licensing, defense of regulatory enforcement actions, appeals of agency actions, and settlement and litigation concerning environmental and other regulatory and general civil matters.

In addition to his appointment on WNMU’s Board of Regents, Dal serves as Chair of the New Mexico Mining Association’s Environment Committee and Vice-Chair of the New Mexico Chamber of Commerce Environment, Water and Land Use Policy Committee. His environmental law practice has been recognized by Chambers USA, The Best Lawyers in America since 1999, and Southwest Super Lawyers since 2007.
