Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey has tapped four new members to serve on the state’s Tourism Advisory Council: Jeff Meyer, president of the Cactus League Baseball Association; Deborah Ostreicher, assistant director at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport; Jennifer Wesselhoff, president and CEO of the Sedona Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Bureau; and Lorraine Zomok, administrator of Visit Glendale.
The Tourism Advisory Council advises the director of the Arizona Office of Tourism on the establishment of policies and programs related to tourism promotion in the state. The council consists of 15 members, all of whom are appointed by the governor for terms of five years.
The council’s members represent tourism-related businesses across Arizona, including attractions, hotels and resorts, restaurants, and the recreation and transportation industries. Members hail from all corners of the state, with at least one representative from six designated geographical planning areas.
Meyer, who was elected president of the Cactus League last summer, is the owner and president of Desert Care Landscape Resources in Phoenix. He has spent the past six years on the volunteer board of the Arizona Sports and Tourism Authority, serving as chair in 2014.
Ostreicher has worked at Sky Harbor since 1996 and was appointed assistant aviation director in 2015. She oversees several departments at the airport, including those responsible for international air-service development, government affairs, technology, environmental impacts, public relations, customer service, human resources and contracts.
In her role at the Sedona Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Bureau Wesselhoff oversees advocacy and business-development efforts. She is responsible for all aspects of tourism marketing and management for the city, including the visitor center and product development.
Zomok’s tenure with the City of Glendale began 17 years ago, when the Glendale Visitor Center opened, and in 2010 she led the city’s tourism division through the formation of the Glendale Convention & Visitors Bureau. This is her third appointment to the Tourism Advisory Council.
