Gust Rosenfeld PLC elected Gary Verburg to partner in January 20. He joined the law firm in May, 2014, after serving as City Attorney for the City of Phoenix from 2005 to 2014.
Verburg, who is AV Preeminent rated by Martindale-Hubbell, which represents the highest rating in legal ability and ethical standards, focuses his practice on municipal law, commercial law, civil litigation, administrative law and Federal Indian law. His expertise includes contracts, real estate transactions, federal, state and local litigation, land use and zoning, along with elections.
In 2014, he received the Public Lawyer Career Achievement Award from the State Bar of Arizona.

Gary Verburg graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s from the University of Utah and holds a J.D. from the Antioch School of Law, now the University of the District of Columbia, David A. Clark School of Law. He is a member of the State Bar of Arizona and the Arizona Association for Economic Development, where he is active as a teacher.

In addition to serving as city attorney for the City of Phoenix, Verburg previously served as city attorney for two other municipalities. He currently is city attorney for another Arizona town and advises a number of other Arizona cities and towns on municipal law issues.
