Joe Foss Institute (JFI) recently announced that it has named Karrin Taylor as vice chairman of the organization’s board of directors. Taylor, who previously served as a JFI board member, brings extensive experience in government and political affairs and a passion for moving civics education forward in this country. Taylor joins an already impressive board, presided over by chairman Sandy Froman.
For the past fifteen years, Taylor has been a member of the entitlements team DMB Associates, and has been responsible for the successful entitlement of many of the Company’s projects including Verrado, Marley Park, Centerpoint, One Scottsdale, DC Ranch and Eastmark. As DMB Executive Vice President, she is responsible for ongoing land use entitlement matters and other value-enhancing efforts for DMB communities and businesses. She also provides oversight for the Company’s government and political affairs efforts and economic development activities at the local, state and federal level.
“We are extremely fortunate to have a person of Karrin’s caliber joining our board of directors,” said Board President Sandy Froman. “I am confident that she will continue to work side by side with the Joe Foss Institute in our push to restore the focus on civics education in America.”
“It is my honor to serve the noble mission of the Joe Foss Institute,” said Taylor. “I look forward to continuing JFI’s efforts to promote the importance of civics education. The future of our democracy relies on the next generation having a true understanding of how our system of government was created and what it means to be an informed and involved American citizen.”
