National Bank of Arizona, a division of Zions Bancorporation, has appointed Marcos Garay as EVP, Director of Strategic Business Development, reporting directly to Mark Young, NB|AZ CEO.
In this role, Garay will provide leadership and support for the development of new business from multiple and diverse communities. His focus will be Latino markets and developing programs to promote various banking services. Garay will represent NB|AZ while working cooperatively with governmental, professional, and civic organizations aimed at furthering the future of Arizona’s economic growth.
“Mr. Garay will add immediate credibility to our commitment and goal of serving the Latino market,” said Young. “In his new role as EVP, Director of Strategic Business Development, Mr. Garay will partner with our bankers to identify and create significant new consumer and commercial loan opportunities, and promote our banking products and services within our communities.”
Garay holds a degree in Operations and Production Management from the University of Arizona and an MBA from Thunderbird Global School of Management. He has served as President & CEO of Nafinsa Securities in New York City, Managing Director at BBVA Bancomer in Mexico City, and Chairman of the Board of Bancomer Financial Services in Houston, TX. Garay was also instrumental in helping to establish a non-depository subsidiary to BBVA Bancomer.
