Biggs named Chief Nursing Officer at Abrazo Central Campus

Tami Biggs, BSN, RN has been promoted to Chief Nursing Officer at the Abrazo Central Campus.

An accomplished nurse leader with a strong focus on patient-centered care and clinical excellence, Biggs most recently served as the Chief Clinical and Operating Officer at Abrazo Arizona Heart Hospital.  She joined Abrazo Community Health Network in 2016 as Market Cardiovascular Service Line Director. 

Abrazo Central Campus is a 221-bed acute care facility serving the Central Phoenix community since 1963. Abrazo Central hospital is recognized for comprehensive cardiovascular care, neuroscience services, orthopedics, inpatient acute rehabilitation, and 24-hour emergency care.

Before joining Abrazo, Biggs worked in various nursing and nurse management positions in Phoenix, Albuquerque and Denver. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing at the University of Phoenix and is currently pursuing her MSN degree from Arizona State University.

Rainey named Chief Nursing Officer at Abrazo Scottsdale Campus

Sue Rainey, RN, MSN has been promoted to Chief Nursing Officer at the Abrazo Scottsdale Campus.

Rainey most recently was Assistant Chief Nursing Officer at Abrazo Scottsdale Campus. She has more than 29 years of experience in nursing, having served in several leadership roles including Director of Nursing, Emergency Department Director and Interim Chief Nursing Officer at various hospitals. 

Abrazo Scottsdale Campus is a 136-bed acute care, community-based hospital serving the Northeast Valley for more than 30 years. It is an affiliate of Abrazo Community Health Network.

Rainey earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Masters of Nursing from Western Governor’s University in Salt Lake City, Utah.

New GM Appointed at El Conquistador Tucson, A Hilton Resort

El Conquistador Tucson, A Hilton Resort, in Tucson, Ariz., has named Michael K. Platt the new General Manager of its 428-room resort that just completed the largest renovation in its 35-year history.

Bringing more than 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry to the El Conquistador team, he most recently was the general manager of the four-star, four-diamond Royal Park Hotel, in Rochester, Mich. when it received WorldHotels’ award for “Best Experience Creator” for the third consecutive year, the only American hotel in the more than 500 WorldHotels international and luxury portfolio to receive this honor, as well as recognition for improved revenue management.

Born in Zimbabwe and fluent in three languages, Platt’s passion for travel and education has led him to a variety of luxury brands with general manager positions at Arista Hotel (Chicago, Ill.), Viceroy Hotel Santa Monica and Hilton Long Beach (Calif.), and El San Juan Hotel & Casino in Puerto Rico, the first Waldorf Astoria Collection property and the first casino resort in the world to carry the Waldorf Astoria flag.

When he is not working, this new Tucson local can be found watching F-1 racing or walking his three French bulldogs.

MEB announces three promotions; opens office in Utah

MEB Management Services, a provider of comprehensive multifamily management services throughout the Southwest, has promoted two managers to senior vice president of operations, promoted a manager to assistant asset director and opened an office in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Luz Bruscini, CPM, ARM, and Dalia Bureker, CPM, were promoted to senior vice presidents of operations in Tucson and Phoenix, respectively.

In addition, MEB is establishing a presence in Salt Lake City, naming Mike Kienast a vice president in the Utah office. Denise Trentacosta, ARM, a long-time MEB manager, was promoted to assistant asset director in Tucson.

Bruscini, who has been with MEB since 2006, was named Senior VP of Operations in the Tucson office and will be responsible for managing all asset classes including student housing and value-add properties. She was overseeing MEB operations in New Mexico and assisting with Tucson operations.

Bruscini holds an Arizona broker’s license and is a Certified Property Manager through the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM). Bruscini completed the Arizona Lyceum Leadership course through the Arizona Multi-housing Association (AMA). 

She has served on numerous AMA committees, has served as the IREM Tucson-Southern Arizona Chapter president and currently serves on the board. Bruscini is active in the Tucson community and supports Our Family Services and the town of Kino, Mexico.

Bureker, who has been with MEB for 9 years, was named Senior Vice President of Operations for the Phoenix office. She previously served as VP of Operations. She will oversee vice president, asset director, and department head guidance and oversight. She will also be responsible for planning and implementation of initiatives and strategic goals for the company.

A native of Tel Aviv, Israel, Bureker is involved with industry groups IREM, AMA, and the National Association of Realtors. Her philanthropic endeavors include volunteering with EOD Warrior Foundation, Navy EOD Association, and National EOD Association.

Kienast possesses 25 years of multi-family experience in the Metro Phoenix and Tucson markets for both fee managers and REITs. He has served as VP of Operations for MEB offices in Phoenix, Tucson, and Utah.

A native of Aspen, Colorado, Kienast earned a Bachelor of Science in aeronautical studies at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott. Kienast also holds a real estate brokers license.

Trentacosta, a CPM candidate, has been with MEB for 8 years. She was promoted from senior community manager in the Tucson office. Her new responsibility will be to assist in the daily oversight or five multi-family assets with a total of 1,254 apartment homes.

A native of Arlington, Texas, Trentacosta is involved with IREM, AMA, and Big Hearts, a non-profit group in Tucson.
