Bankers Trust welcomes Cooney, Hamilton
Bankers Trust has announced two new hires to its Phoenix office: Kevin Cooney as Vice President, Senior Commercial Relationship Manager, and Amanda Hamilton as Vice President, Consumer Services Manager.
“We’re proud to have Kevin and Amanda bring their many years of diverse experience to the Bankers Trust Phoenix team,” said Patrick Joyce, Arizona Market President for Bankers Trust. “Both will help us advance our efforts to provide comprehensive banking and lending solutions to individuals and businesses here in Phoenix.”
Cooney will help lead the bank’s commercial and industrial lending efforts in the Arizona market. Prior to joining Bankers Trust, Cooney was Senior Vice President, Commercial Relationship Manager at National Bank of Arizona. He earned his degree in finance from Boston College in 2001 and has over 15 years of experience in both commercial and industrial and commercial real estate lending.
As Consumer Services Manager, Hamilton will oversee operations and management of the retail banking teams at Bankers Trust’s three locations in the Phoenix area. She has worked in the finance industry nearly 20 years, including over 11 years managing a retail branch. Hamilton has previously held positions as branch manager for Bank of the West and Mountain America Credit Union, and in private banking and operations for Wells Fargo.
Withey Morris welcomes Stephanie Watney
Withey Morris, a prominent Arizona land use law firm for more than 20 years, brought on planner Stephanie Watney from the City of Chandler.
Stephanie specializes in land use and site development. She provides entitlement and development services to the firm’s clients ranging from initial due diligence and site evaluation to full entitlement processing including rezonings, stipulation modifications, use permits and variances.
“We’re excited to welcome Stephanie and are very impressed with her extensive knowledge and talent,” said Adam Baugh, partner. “Her creativity and the breadth of land use and site development experience she brings from both the public and private sectors makes her a valuable member of our team.”
Stephanie assists in facilitating site development approvals and supporting clients with technical processes such as land divisions and abandonments of public rights-of-way. Prior to joining Withey Morris, Stephanie worked for another large national law firm where she
specialized in zoning. More recently, she held a position with the City of Chandler as a city planner.
Haydon Building Corp hires Bryan Bernardo and Mike Norburg
Haydon Building Corp, one of the leading general contractors in the Southwest hires Bryan Bernardo as Multi-Family Market Sector Leader and Mike Norburg as Building Division Senior Project Superintendent. In these new roles, Bryan and Mike will partner to lead the company’s efforts in furthering their multi-family and senior living market sectors.
Bernardo brings over 30 years of management and leadership experience across several markets. He has extensive proficiency on driving strategy, financial viability, and vision. Most recently as Vice President for Kitchell, he provided overall leadership and direction for specific market sector operations in order to deliver profitability and strategic growth. Bernardo also previously spent 25 years working for Weitz Company, where he went from intern to Vice President and Managing Officer of their Phoenix location.
“I’ve worked on senior living and multi-family projects throughout the course of my entire career. My passion is working through the construction process and seeing the end result that is utilized by people who need it most,” said Bernardo. “It’s exciting to be able to help this team at Haydon move forward and diversify into this new market sector.”

Norburg brings over 28 years of industry experience pertaining to multi-family and residential building. He has extensive expertise in developing standard operating procedures, while also bringing his passion for mentorship, employee development and career advancement to Haydon. Most recently as the General Superintendent for A.R. Mays Construction, he worked closely with all members of the project team throughout the course of large-scale projects.
“I believe in the power that people hold to move an organization forward. Owning my own framing business and working in various managerial positions over the years has led me to uncover my passion for mentorship and staff development,” said Norburg. “All of which will help further our foothold in the multi-family market sector.”
CBRE’s Michael Strittmatter named 2020 chair for NAIOP Arizona Developing Leaders
Michael Strittmatter, First Vice President CBRE Advisory & Transaction Services, Investor Leasing, has been named 2020 Chairman for the Arizona Chapter of NAIOP’s Developing Leaders (DL) program, which serves commercial real estate professionals age 35 and under.
Strittmatter joined CBRE in 2011. He specializes in landlord leasing throughout Metro Phoenix with a focus on representing Class A building owners and developers. He and his team have completed numerous build-to-suit transactions and have extensive experience leasing, large, ground-up business parks.
“Thanks to last year’s Chairman, Pat Boyle, for all his hard work setting the tone for this upcoming year,” Strittmatter said. “The Developing Leaders program has a great foundation, and I’m looking forward to welcoming the new members and new ideas this upcoming year. Expanding programs such as the NAIOP-AZ Connections (mentoring) will continue to increase the value of membership.”
