McCarthy Building Companies promotes Antonya Williams
McCarthy Building Companies Inc. recently promoted Antonya Williams to vice president for the Southwest region.
In this position, Williams guides a large multi-state team delivering solutions for diverse and complex projects. She holds key partnerships with all preconstruction and operations leaders focusing on the technical aspects within project design and construction.
Williams has more than a decade of industry expertise with a diverse, well-rounded background in project and design management, including eight years working for McCarthy’s Northern Pacific region where she was involved in a wide array of construction teams, ranging from education institutions and healthcare facilities to large justice projects.
“Antonya has a passion for the construction industry and this new role will utilize her exceptional team-building skills to foster open collaboration from a project’s start to finish,” said Justin Kelton, president of McCarthy Southwest. “Her experience with design management, sustainability issues and numerous alternative delivery methods will be an asset to owners who are looking to implement best practices.”
Williams earned her bachelor’s degree in construction management from California State University, Chico. She actively volunteers with New Pathways for Youth, Advancing Women in Construction and the ACE Mentor Program of America, which matches professionals in architecture, construction and engineering with high school students open to a career in those fields.
Delta Dental of Arizona taps Leslie Hess
Delta Dental of Arizona announced that Leslie Hess is joining Arizona’s leading dental benefits provider as the dental insurer’s compliance and risk management officer. In this director-level position, Hess will oversee the organization’s enterprise risk management activities and ensure state and federal regulatory compliance.
Prior to joining Delta Dental of Arizona, Hess served as the interim director at the Arizona Department of Insurance, where she was responsible for directing and managing the operations of the state agency. Hess was tasked with analyzing, interpreting and enforcing statutes and regulations relating to all lines of insurance, including health, life, property and casualty.
“Leslie’s extensive background with insurance, governmental affairs and compliance will be an asset as Delta Dental of Arizona continues to grow and launch new products and programs to make dental care accessible to all Arizonans,” said Allan Allford, president/CEO of Delta Dental of Arizona.
Hess has both private and public-sector experience, including serving as the director of compliance and corporate secretary for Oxford Life Insurance Company and its subsidiaries and more than 11 years as deputy receiver and financial affairs legal officer at the Arizona Department of Insurance. She also spent two years at the Arizona Legislature at Legislative Council and worked in the securities division at the Arizona Corporation Commission for seven years. Early in her career, Hess worked as an attorney for both Merrill Lynch and Bear Stearns in New York City.
She has a juris doctor from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and a master’s degree in counseling from Arizona State University. Hess is also a founding member of the Cactus Wren Chapter of the National Charity League.

Jaburg Wilk partner Castle named to board
Jason Castle was named to the Board of Directors of Helping Hands for Single Moms Phoenix.
Castle, a family law attorney and partner at Jaburg Wilk, said “For much of my career, I’ve worked with children and families. This is a non-profit that not only helps disadvantaged single mom pursue a college degree but also supports her family during that challenging journey. Without that support, her chance of success diminishes.”
Helping Hands for Single Moms Phoenix has been serving the community since 2002. More than 73 single mom families are currently receiving benefits through their program with a college graduation or enrollment rate of 74% of their full scholarship clients. Their mission is to is to assist impoverished single mother families while the mother pursues a college education and financial independence.
